Scouts celebrate Baden-Powell’s birthday

Scout founder remembered.

Scouts, Cubs, Cubettes and Guides from around the world celebrated BP Weekend, from February 20 to 22.

This event marks the birthday of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting and Guiding movements.

The festivities kicked off with a district campfire, hosted by the First Wychwood Scout Group.

“Our Eland district includes Scout groups from Lambton, Randhart, Kensington, Brackenhurst, Germiston and Wychwood,” explained Janine Whitehead, of the First Wychwood Scout Group.

B P Sunday saw various Scout groups taking to Victoria Lake to play canoe polo, organised and overseen by the Third Kensington Sea Scouts.

The event was greatly enjoyed by all who attended.
