Home Affairs busy with system upgrade
Seventy Home Affairs offices to still be upgraded.
The Home Affairs Department reported today that it has successfully upgraded its system at half of its offices across the country.
It has since been reorted that while all sites will be open today (Monday), 70 of them won’t be able to process identity documents and/or passports.
During the departments upgrade it has been upgrading systems to process details of disabled people without fingerprints, as well as transferring its data online.
The list of offices which will be offline is only due to be released at a later stage.
Director-General Mkuseli Apleni said, “The only challenge we had was on the rollout, so currently we’ve got 70 of offices which are ready to operate and the other 70 we will proceed with to today.”
