The Elsburg police are investigating a case of abduction and rape.
They are looking for a man who rescued a 17-year-old girl after she was allegedly abducted in Voortrekker Street, Elsburg, at about 4.30pm on April 7, by four unknown men driving in a taxi.
“It is also alleged that they drove to the Delmore informal settlement were the actual rape was committed,” said communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS, Const Daphney Phooko.
“She was raped by all four men who did not use condoms.
“The girl was apparently returning home by train and got off at the Elsburg Train Station, and then walked to Voortrekker Street, where she was abducted.”
Phooko added that, after the rape, the suspects allegedly drove to Rooibekkie Street, in Tedstoneville, where the driver took out a firearm, pointed it at the victim and threatened to kill her because she could identify one of them.
“She had apparently spoken to one of the suspects before, when he proposed a relationship with her,” Phooko said.
“Suddenly an unknown man came to her rescue by confronting the suspects; a fight broke out between them and the girl managed to escape.
“The suspects are still at large and the Elsburg police are appealing to anybody with information which could lead to their arrest and prosecution to come forward, including the man who rescued the victim.”
