The risk of load shedding remains high
Several generators have been brought back online - says Eskom.
As some residents spend their first day in over a week without load shedding, Eskom has said that the risk of load shedding still remains high.
The utility said any unexpected break downs will force the company to implement load shedding, however, the company is in a better situation compared to the past three days as several generators had been brought back to service.
It has been reported that the company’s diesel and water reserves have also improved over the weekend.
Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said, “We also see an increase in terms of demand.
“Those two factors sometimes result in load shedding.
“But so far, things are looking good.”
On Friday, Phasiwe said that despite the gradual improvement, there’s still a long way to go in terms of relief.
