The Primrose police recently arrested a resident of Marathon informal settlement for domestic violence.
The man was picked up by police after his girlfriend opened a case against him.
The victim explained to officers that the accused had assaulted her after she refused to accompany him to a local tavern at 4am in the morning.
The suspect was traced, arrested and charged with domestic violence.
He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for trial.
