Men arrested for drugs and bribery

Men try to bribe officers with R200.

Two men, aged 20 and 40 years old, were recently arrested by members of the Germiston Flying Squad.

The men were arrested in Rietfontein Road, in Primrose, while officers were on patrol in the area.

“Officers on patrol at around 7.30pm noticed the two men acting suspiciously.

“They stopped the men and searched them. During the search they found a plastic bag containing a white substance, believed to be drugs,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

In an attempt to avoid arrest, the men tried to bribe the officers with R200.

The men were arrested and formally charged with the possession of drugs, as well as attempting to bribe an officer.
