No load shedding on the cards
Chance of load shedding remains low today.
Today (Monday) marks three days without load shedding and today’s prognosis remains low.
“There is currently no planned load shedding as Eskom has enough generating capacity to meet the demand,” this was announced by the company in a press release this morning.
“Eskom is pleased to announce that we were able to go through yesterday’s morning and evening peak demand periods without having to go into load shedding thereby averting load shedding for the day.”
In winter the electricity demand peaks in the morning and evening as more electricity is used during these times.
The company therefore, appeals to all customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day but to be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 9pm
Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
