Woman assaulted when she refuses man’s advances

Ex-boyfriend arrested after woman assaulted.

A woman recently sustained multiple injuries after being assaulted with a wooden spoon and an iron.

The victim claimed she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend when she refused to take him back.

“The victim explained to officers that she had been at her home in the Marathon informal settlement, when her ex-boyfriend arrived and asked her to please come to his house,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for Primrose police.

“She agreed to go with him and when they arrived at his house, he apologised for mistakes he had made in the past and asked her to take him back.

“She refused his advances.”

Enraged with her refusal, it is alleged the 27-year-old man began to hit the woman with a wooden spoon and an iron.

Using the description given by the victim, officers tracked down the accused and he was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.
