“The metro is aware of the power supply interruption affecting parts of Germiston and its surrounding areas caused by a faulty cable at the Elsburg substation,” said Themba Gabede, spokesman for the metro.
Technicians are currently on site working on the fault and hope that the power supply will be restored by 3pm today (Friday).
The affected areas supplied by the Elsburg substation include:
- Elsburg Extension One;
- Delville;
- Germiston South;
- Parkhill Gardens;
- Tedstoneville.
“The metro wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused,” said Gabede.
