Three men were arrested on Sunday, June 28, at 1pm, at a supermarket in Germiston when 43 cartons of illegal cigarettes were found in the shop.
The arrests were made when the shop was raided by EMPD Germiston Crime Prevention Unit members.
Twenty cartons of Remington Golds, 12 of Megas and 11 of Sevilles, valued at about R27 000, were seized in the raid.
The arrested men are Bangladeshi nationals, aged 25, 40 and 44.
They were charged with possession of illicit cigarettes at the Germiston Police Station and were expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court on Monday, June 29.
