Man found with two bags of nyaope

Stop-and-search yields results.

In continued efforts to reduce substance abuse in Primrose, the Primrose police recently conducted a stop-and-search operation in Rietfontein Road, a known drug hot-spot.

During the operation officers stopped a 32-year-old man and asked to search him; they found two small plastic bags containing nyaope, hidden in a cigarette box.

Two pipes, which the accused confirmed he uses to smoke the nyaope, were also found.

“We appeal to our community to refrain from using drugs,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The man was arrested and appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

His case has been postponed for plea and trial.
