The metro wishes to inform residents and businesses in parts of Germiston that it is aware of the power outage affecting the area.
The interruption is due to a fault at the Tedstoneville substation which has left customers in Dukathole Extensions 8 and 9, Tedstoneville, NCP, Enterprise and surrounding areas without power since last night.
Although technicians managed to restore power through another source this morning, it lasted for only 20 minutes and then it went off again.
“Technicians are now working around the clock to pinpoint the location of the fault. As soon they have identified it, they will begin with repairs,” explained Ekurhuleni spokesman Themba Gadebe.
“This process is anticipated to continue well into this evening, however, work will continue until all affected customers’ power has been restored”.
The metro wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the outage and reminds consumers to treat all electrical appliances as electrical alive at all times.
