The power system is currently stable, and this will enable Eskom to perform maintenance without load shedding.
However, the power system remains constrained throughout the day, especially during the evening peak period (5pm to 9pm) mainly as a result of increased electricity demand.
Yesterday Eskom implement load shedding from 8am to 10pm in an effort to build up reserves for the coming week.
Eskom urges residents to continue to use electricity sparingly and find energy efficient ways of staying warm.
