Some suburbs without power due to cable fault

The metro is aware of the power supply interruption affecting parts of Germiston since last night.

The outage was a result of a fault on a 33kV cable in Germiston Extension Eight which technicians are currently repairing.

Areas that are affected include:

• Germiston South Extensions Two, Four, Seven, Eight and Nine.
• Germiston Extensions Three and 10.
• Tedstoneville Extension One.

Power is expected to be restored by 3pm today.

The metro apologises for any inconvenience caused and reminds residents to treat all electrical networks and equipment as electrically alive at all times.
