Youth Desk celebrates Mandela Day

Youth desk visit the elderly for Mandela Day.

Members of the Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk (PCPYD), with officers from the Primrose Police Station, visited the Solheim Home for the Aged as part of their Mandela Day celebration.

The residents of the home were entertained by an interactive play and a number of poems.

Capt Patricia Fakude, from the Primrose Police Station, spoke to the residents about crimes focused on senior citizens.

“As police, we will try our best to protect you from criminals, we will promote a safer environment for senior citizens,” she said.

During the visit safety tips were also distributed to the residents.
