Prim Villa was recently awarded Best Home of the Year title, for the second consecutive year.
The announcement was made at the Methodist Homes Association (MHA) annual Directors’ Dinner.
Prim Villa is a mid and frail care facility that specialises in the care of those who have Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
The awards are an annual event at MHA and are based on strict criteria used to ensure fairness in judging the homes.
The criteria includes financial results, occupancy levels, atmosphere of the home, building maintenance, internal audits, OHSA audit, HR audit, employment equity, training, committee participation and activities.
“The trophies are highly sought after and are an acknowledgement of the work, commitment and caring of our staff,” explained home manager Sharon Flint.
“The standards of our 14 homes are continually improving, so it is inevitable that the competition is getting tougher and tighter.
“The staff members of Prim Villa have exceeded themselves.
“To be a winner always requires a team effort, so the acknowledgement is for all who participated in making Prim Villa the lovely home that it is today.”
Sharon went on to thank the staff for their dedication and passion.
The staff members were complimented on their commitment and attention to detail, as well as their good attitudes.
“Their hard work is the reason that Prim Villa has the excellent standard of care it does,” she said.
The staff of Prim Villa celebrated the achievement with a special lunch.
“There was much joy, singing, dancing and fun on the day,” Sharon said happily.
“We are very proud at Prim Villa of our achievements and thank our CEO, Kelvin Glen, and our board of directors for recognising our home.”
