Thirty suspects arrested in a week

Primrose police kept busy.

The Primrose police shared their arrest statistics from August 24 to 30.

Thirty suspects were arrested for various crimes in the area.

Charges included:

  •  Driving under the influence of alcohol: 4
  •  Common assault: 2
  •  Shoplifting: 2
  •  Housebreaking and theft: 3
  •  Possession of drugs: 3
  •  Possession of suspected stolen property: 1
  •  Negligent loss of a firearm: 1
  •  Attempted hijacking: 1
  •  Rape: 2
  •  Dealing in drugs: 2
  •  Malicious damage to property: 2
  •  Warrant of arrest: 4
  •  Illegal immigrants: 3

The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.

Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela, for deportation.
