During a recent Germiston cluster stations operation in Primrose, two men were arrested for the possession of drugs.
“Officers received information about drugs being sold at one of the shops in Rietfontein Road.
“They proceeded to the address to conduct a search,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
A 27-year-old man was found inside the store, he had a white substance, believed to be drugs, in his possession.
Police continued to search the store and found a 47-year-old Ugandan man, who claimed to be a herbalist, in the backroom of the store.
“Both his place and he were searched.
“Officers discovered a plastic container, which contained several small zip lock packets filled with a white substance,” Maome said.
During the interrogation, the 47-year-old told officers that he was selling the substance for a Nigerian man.
Both suspects were arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.
The men were released on bail and will appear soon in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
