The Germiston SAPS is warning the community to be aware of their surroundings at all times out on the roads. They are also urged to be extra careful when pulling into their driveways and waiting for the gate to open, or for someone to come and open the gate manually. There has been an increase in hijacking cases reported in the Germiston area.

The Germiston SAPS have identified a number of smash-and-grab hot spot areas in their policing district. They are warning the community to be alert and on their guard when driving, especially in these areas.
3. Explosion at home leaves man in critical condition: https://bit.ly/1Lta3Do
A 20-year-old Primrose man is in a critical condition after suffering burn wounds, on Wednesday. “Reports from the scene indicate that there was an accidental explosion at the man’s home,” said Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare 911.
4. Men nabbed in Beaconsfield Avenue: https://bit.ly/1O6tvFw
During a routine patrol in Beaconsfield Avenue CPF patrollers nabbed two men allegedly in a near-by yard. “The patrollers headed to the home to investigate, after receiving a complaint from a resident, it is there they allegedly found the two men,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police

The Monday power curse was back last Monday, with many Germiston suburbs again experiencing a power outage. This is the third Monday, almost in succession, that suburbs, including Tedstoneville Extension One, Fishers’ Hill, Sunnyridge, Homestead, Gerdview, Dawnview and Primrose, have been left without power. To make matters worse in Wattle Street, Homestead, when the power was turned back on residents experienced a power surge which damaged many electrical appliances.
