Whacked female comedians are back for their first arena show at Carnival City
Whacked Project presents a fresh, female cast for a show stopping event at Carnival City.
Carnival City’s Big Top Arena will reverberate with the roar of unbridled laughter on February 26 and 27 when an all-girl cast of outrageous comedians takes to the stage for ‘Bitches Be Back’.
Stomping their way through traditionally male-dominated terrain for the much anticipated sequel to the 2013 hit comedy show ‘Bitches’ are Tumi Morake, Celeste Ntuli, Noko Moswete, Nina Hastie and explosive newcomer, Tenjiwe Moseley.
The show, produced once again by top comedy producer Whacked Special Project, promises to kick 2016 right in the testosterone, with the refreshed cast, new material and spectacular venue.
Hosted by Anele Mdoda, ‘Bitches Be Back’ will feature a special showstopper performance by dream girl Tracey-Lee Oliver to deliver an entertaining collection of stand-up, sketch and singing that will have audiences standing in their seats while laughing their heads off.
“Stand-up comedy was always the domain of the male, until recently.
“Now, women have started to own stages all over the country, and this show is the first of its kind to hit an arena,” said creative director Marita van Schalkwyk.
What makes the show even more special is that Whacked has assembled a team of brilliant women to produce and promote the show.
“We are a largely female team, from the casting, PR and direction to performances.
“When we say ‘bitches’ we aren’t kidding,” said executive producer Taffia Keight.
“Sensitive people say that the term is derogatory.
“We feel that being a strong woman is not always a popular position, but to make yourself heard in the world, sometimes you have to embrace the inner tiger rather than tame it,” she said.
“Of course, men are most welcome to watch the show.
“This time they just need to sit down and listen.
“Let us tell them what the person next to them is thinking, because they seem to be struggling to understand that.
“Bring your partner, and guys, let us make you look good while we look even better,” said headliner Tumi Morake.
Tickets to the shows are now on sale at Computicket. For more information, visit www.whacked.co.za.
