Severe thunderstorms predicted by weather service

The South African Weather Service this morning has released the following warnings for Gauteng:

• Heavy rain:

Heavy rain and localized flooding is expected over the central and southern parts of Gauteng on this evening (Wednesday), and Pretoria on Thursday

• Severe thunderstorms:

The severe thunderstorms, set to hit between 12pm and midnight, may bring with them strong damaging winds, and even hail.

Residents are urged to take precautions when travelling and be sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.
