Busy week for police

The Primrose police share their latest arrest statistics.

From April 25 to May 1, the Primrose police arrested 40 suspects in their policing district.

The suspects were arrested on various charges.

These included:

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 3

Common assault: 3

Possession of drugs: 3

Driving under the influence of alcohol: 3

Business breaking: 1

Fraud and forgery: 3

Culpable homicide: 1

Possession of copper: 5

Dealing in liquor without a license: 3

Shoplifting: 2

Theft: 4

Illegal immigrants: 9

The acting Primrose SAPS station commander, Lieut-Col Solly Maswanganyi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.

Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation
