The Germiston SAPS and Germiston CPF recently held a joint operation to address smash-and-grabs at two hotspot areas. They targeted the corner of Jack and Refinery roads, as well as Lower Boksburg Road, next to the Germiston Extension Five informal settlement. The operation ran between 4pm and 6pm and saw police and CPF members handing out pamphlets to motorists, warning them about smash-and-grabs and urging female drivers to put their personal belongings in the boots of their vehicles.
