Man stabbed with broken beer bottle

A man was arrested by the Primrose police after he allegedly attacked his neighbour.

A 28-year-old Makause informal settlement man was recently arrested by the Primrose police.

The arrest was made after the accused’s neighbour opened a case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm against him.

The victim told police that he was at home when he heard footsteps on the roof of his shack.

“He went outside to investigate and found his neighbour on his roof.

“Confused, he asked him what he was doing there. It was then that the suspect allegedly attacked him,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The man allegedly jumped off the roof and stabbed the victim in the upper body with a broken beer bottle.

Police were able to trace the suspect and he was arrested.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
