On Thursday the South Africa Weather Service once again warned of severe thunderstorms with the possibility of large hail and damaging winds. After last week’s heavy downpour and flash floods that wreaked havoc in Ekurhuleni, residents are urged to take the necessary precautions when travelling and also ensure they shelter their pets.

A Makause informal settlement woman was recently assaulted, allegedly by her 23-year-old ex-boyfriend. While opening a case against him with the Primrose police she told officers that she was at home when the accused arrived. “She told the police that he wanted to take their son out and when she questioned where he was taking him the suspect became violent,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome. The ex-boyfriend allegedly attacked the victim, who has a protection order against him, and would not stop.

The South African Weather Service predicted that parts of the country would have above normal rainfall from November 9 to 12. This came after heavy rains and flash floods wreaked havoc in Ekurhuleni recently.

Emergency services across the board are on high alert following a recent storm, which resulted in flash floods across Ekurhuleni. ER24 was among the emergency services who responded to numerous incidents. After the storm ER24 released a list of tips and urged all members of the public to take note of them when dealing with flash floods.

The metro and emergency services across the board are on high-alert following the recent storm, which resulted in flash floods across Ekurhuleni. But it was not all bad. Marlands residents Lucas Coetzer and Pie Badenhorst took the opportunity to practice their fishing. In a video the two can be seen laughing in the rain with their fishing rods as water swirls around them.
