EMPD senior management tackles policing challenges across Ekurhuleni
EMPD Commissioner I.J. Mapiyeye has called for stronger leadership, accountability and collaboration as senior management reviews policing operations and challenges across Ekurhuleni. The strategic meeting concluded with clear directives aimed at improving service delivery and creating a safer city.
The EMPD Commissioner, Isaac Mapiyeye, convened a strategic presentation meeting with the department’s senior management on Thursday, August 20.
The meeting, held at the Brakpan Council Chamber Boardroom, brought together the Deputy Commissioner, brigadiers, colonels and superintendents from various precincts and units.
The session provided commanders with an opportunity to present on the work carried out in their respective areas of responsibility, highlighting operational achievements, policing activities, community safety initiatives and other interventions aimed at addressing crime and traffic-related challenges across the City of Ekurhuleni.

Commanders also outlined challenges encountered in their respective precincts and units, providing senior management with a broader understanding of the operational realities faced by officers on the ground.

The presentations form part of the EMPD leadership’s ongoing efforts to assess departmental performance, identify operational gaps and develop practical measures to improve service delivery and strengthen safety across the city.
