Last Friday was payday for many, but also Black Friday. The malls across the country were packed with customers trying to buy items at reduced prices, while some shops had implemented a customer-in-customer-out system to monitor the number of people inside, a video shared on Twitter showed people at a Checkers store all trying to grab packets of toilet paper, and it did not look good.

The Germiston Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit recently arrested a 38-year-old man for the alleged rape of his daughter. “The child disclosed to a social worker that her father had allegedly had sex with her on more than one occasion, and had also asked her elder brother (12) to perform oral sex,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Reece Heyman is desperately looking for his father, Bruce Edward Heyman (54). Bruce was last seen in Amanzimtoti, Durban, wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, red cap, slops and carrying a red bag. Though Bruce is a Germiston resident, he left for Durban to find a new job.

The EMPD By-Law Enforcement Unit, in conjunction with Urban Management officials, have embarked on a special operation targeting those who without authorisation display vehicles for sale on public roads and repair vehicles on pavements, as well as those who use residential spaces to spray-paint and panel-beat vehicles.
