A tour of pregnancy and parenthood
Life Roseacres Hospital hosted an informative and interactive Little Life Pregnancy and Baby Workshop.
The journey to motherhood is filled with joy and special moments, but also some uncertainty.
With this in mind, Life Roseacres Hospital hosted the Little Life Pregnancy and Baby Workshop, at the hospital, last Saturday.
The morning workshop aimed to celebrate everything about pregnancy, as well as to offer mothers-to-be some helpful tips on what to expect during pregnancy and when baby arrives.
A number of pregnancy-related talks were given on the day, to offer the guests more insight into the different areas of pregnancy.
Experts from various disciplines spoke to moms- and dads-to-be about a number of important issues, including the importance of breastfeeding, the risks of smoking and drinking during pregnancy, the importance of exercise during and after pregnancy and the importance of a hearing test in newborn babies.
Attendees then received some hands-on experience with an interactive demonstration on baby bathing, given by Sister Sharon Kock.
Some helpful tips given during the demonstration included how to test the water temperature and what sequence of steps to follow when bathing a baby.
The event ended with guests being treated to a selection of eats before taking a tour of the hospital’s maternity ward, including the neo-natal ICU.
