A man died on Wednesday morning, following a shooting during a business robbery at a warehouse in Wadeville. “When Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene, they found that one man had been fatally shot. He was declared dead on scene by Netcare 911 paramedics,” said Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare 911.

2. Dawnview dagga lab uncovered, R200 00 worth of dagga seized: https://bit.ly/2lZRvbS

During an intelligence driven operation by members of the Ekurhuleni West cluster SAPS, R200 000 worth of dagga was seized in Dawnview, last Wednesday night. The police raided a house in Kenlor Avenue and discovered a dagga plantation laboratory. SAPS Forensics were called to the scene for investigation.

Smoke filled the air and turned the sunny afternoon dark recently as a unit on the second floor of a block of flats caught fire. The building is situated just off Howe Circle in Kernick Road, Sunnyridge. Luckily the fire was noticed by a number of people in the area, one of whom was Ashley Records from Records Industrial Hardware.

Hoërskool Goudrif’s Pedro Aaron (18) has once again come out on top at the Germiston Inter-High athletics, which was held at Germiston Stadium, last Wednesday. Aaron competed in six events and took first place in all. “He competed in the 100m, 200m and 400m sprint heats; 110m and 400m hurdles and in the long jump,” said his coach, Stephanè Kotzè.

5. Forecasters have warned of the impact of tropical cyclone Dineo on parts of South Africa: https://bit.ly/2lRTNJY

The South African Weather Service warned that the tropical cyclone Dineo would move into parts of KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo from Thursday, February 16. Forecasters warned that the impact of the storm would be felt from Friday, in these regions, through heavy rainfall, flooding and strong winds. They, therefore, warned residents living in or travelling through low-lying areas to be vigilant.
