Wallet stolen at gunpoint

The Primrose police recently arrested a 20-year-old man after he allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint.

A man claimed he was recently robbed at gunpoint at the corner of Rietfontein and Zinia roads.

“The complainant told officers that he went to collect money, which he placed in his wallet, and was then waiting for a friend to pick him up.

“While waiting, he was approached by an unknown man,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The suspect allegedly threatened the man with a firearm and demanded his wallet.

“As soon as he had the wallet the suspect escaped on foot,” said Maome.

Officers were able to arrest the 20-year-old man allegedly responsible for the crime and he was taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was formally charged.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
