The Ekurhuleni West cluster stations arrested 125 suspects through different operations in the area.

Officers from the Ekurhuleni West cluster stations arrested 125 suspects recently.

This is according to the latest arrest statistics released by the cluster.

The accused were arrested for various charges, through different police operations held throughout the cluster, including roadblocks held by the EMPD where motorists were fined for various traffic infringements.

Other charges included rape, assault, domestic violence, theft, theft of motor vehicle, house break-in and theft, malicious damage to property, intimidation, pointing a firearm, warrant of arrest, contravening a court order, shoplifting, selling liquor without a licence, culpable homicide, attempted murder, murder, fraud, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

A number of illegal immigrants were also arrested during the operations.

All the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge and Vosloorus magistrate’s courts, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
