Drug dealer (63) arrested in Vosloorus with more than 40 packets of dagga

A 63-year-old suspect will appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court today (October 10) on charges of possession and dealing in illicit substances as well as possession of illicit cigarettes.

According to chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) spokesperson, the man was arrested following a tip-off from a community member, reports the Boksburg Advertiser.

He was arrested yesterday (October 9) by the EMPD Public Order Policing, SWAT and VIP Units at Nguni hostel, in Vosloorus at about 4:30pm.

“Metro police raided a room where the man was found in possession of more than 40 packets of dagga, drugs – which could not be positively identified at the time – and illicit cigarettes.

“Cash found in the room is believed to be the proceeds from the illegal sale of illicit substances. It was also confiscated.”

The suspect was arrested and charged at the Vosloorus Police Station.
