Second stolen Ford Ranger recovered in Spruitview Gardens street

Working on GPS co-ordinates given to them by a vehicle tracking company, members of the EMPD Public Order Policing (POP) Unit recovered an orange Ford Ranger GP last Saturday. The recovery took place at about 6pm. The vehicle had been stolen in Midrand and the EMPD officers tracked it to Mokgothu Street in Spruitview Gardens.

Stolen vehicle tracked to Katlehong

EMPD members recovered a Toyota Conquest stolen in Germiston in Katlehong recently. GPS co-ordinates of the stolen Toyota Conquest supplied by a vehicle tracking company led the EMPD Public Order Policing (POP) Unit members to the vehicle in Dladla Street, in the Maphanga section of Katlehong.

Celebrating babies born too soon

World Prematurity Day is celebrated globally on November 17 and celebrates all babies born too soon. Life Roseacres Hospital took the opportunity, on this special day, to educate the hospital’s staff and the community on premature births.

Children enjoy once-in-a-lifetime day of flying

The air was alive with throbbing engines, laughter and the chatter of children at Rand Airport recently. The reason? It was the Flying Lions Formation Aerobatic Team’s charity day. The annual event sees the team giving back to children by taking them for flips in their aircraft. This year five Harvards and one Baron were used to treat the children to high-flying adventures.

Stop-and-search operation leads to arrests

Katlehong police recently arrested nine suspects for various crimes in their policing precinct. The suspects were arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit together with EMPD officers.
