With the school holidays in full swing, the Primrose police are appealing to parents and children to be extra aware of their surroundings and be vigilant when finding holiday jobs.
“We have received reports that children looking for holiday work have been approached by suspects in several different vehicles.
“The suspects offer the children money to help them offload goods, but instead rob them of their cellphones, money and other belongings,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

In addition to this warning, police have warned children not to walk through the streets with headphones in their ears as they are making themselves vulnerable to robbery.
“Parents need to help us by teaching their children to walk in groups and to avoid dark, quiet streets,” Maome said.
The community is urged to report any suspicious activities to the police by calling the Primrose patrol vehicles on 071 675 6864/5/6/7/8/9 or the Primrose Police Station’s charge office on 011 842 0522.
