A Toyota Etios was stolen in Primrose, last Tuesday.
EMPD Order Policing Unit members found the vehicle abandoned at Leondale Shopping Centre.
The recovery was made possible with the assistance of GPS co-ordinates provided by the vehicle’s tracking company to the metro police.
The vehicle was found with a stripped dashboard and missing ignition.
It was later towed to the SAPS van Ryn pound in Benoni for further investigation and safekeeping.
