Stop-search operations yield 17 arrests

The Katlehong police arrested 17 suspects during two days of stop-and-search operations.

The Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit has been hard at work with crime prevention measures in the Katlehong area.

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, officers from the unit hosted stop-and-search operations in the area which led to the arrest of 17 suspects.

The suspects were arrested on a number of different charges.

These included murder, robbery, child neglect, possession of dagga, theft out of a motor vehicle, and defeating the ends of justice.

The suspects were arrested and taken to the Katlehong Police Station.

They have since appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
