Help Earl realise his dance dream

Earl Orange needs the community’s help to further his dance dream.

His dream of becoming a world-renowned dancer is still very much alive and well, and Earl Orange now has the opportunity to showcase his talent in Spain.

The GCN told the story of Earl’s experience at the International Dance Organisation (IDO) World Championships in Austria in November 2016.

The hip-hop and breakdancer, who lives in Primrose, has been invited to compete in the Sun Sea Festival in Lloret De Mar in Spain in July.

He will be competing as part of a 17-member hip-hop team all from KeZone in Edenglen, Edenvale, and will also be doing solos in breakdancing and a combined singing and dancing category.

“Dancing and entertainment in general is my passion, and even if it does not work out as a career, I will always dance,” Earl said.

“I also enjoy teaching dance.”

However, for Earl and the other team members, the dream of competing at the festival is not a reality yet as they need to raise the funds to travel to Spain.

Earl Orange shows off one of his moves. The dancer has the opportunity to compete in Spain.

Each team member needs to raise R25 000 to cover all the costs.

The team members have been holding a number of fund-raisers to get them closer to their goal.

“As a team we are doing shows at schools, karaoke shows or anything that revolves around dancing to try and earn the money,” Earl said.

They need to have each raised the money they need by the end of May, and need R5 500 by the end of February to secure their place.

Earl added that he also does graffiti art and sign writing to earn money.

The young man is also into his music and enjoys rapping and singing.
