Security officer shot multiple times in Elsburg

Netcare 911 paramedics were on scene to treat a man with multiple gunshot wounds, on Monday night.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a shooting in Elsburg at 9.40pm on Monday night.

It was reported that a 56-year-old armed-response security officer responded to an alleged house robbery and was shot multiple times in the arms and legs after arriving on the scene.

The security guard drove himself to the Elsburg Police Station.

Netcare 911 attended to the patient at the police station and he was given medication to manage his pain before being transported to hospital for further care.

His condition was serious but stable.

The outcome of the house robbery is not known to Netcare 911.

The GCN is awaiting further comment from the Elsburg SAPS on the incident.
