While many were still enjoying the long weekend, on Monday, officers from the Katlehong Police Station’s Crime Prevention Unit were hard at work.
With the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, the team arrested 22 suspects for various offences in a stop-and-search operation.

Charges included:
Murder: 2
Driving under the influence of alcohol: 2
Possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle: 1
Pointing a firearm: 1
Rape: 1
Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1
Malicious damage to property: 1
Possession of drugs: 13

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
Police will continue to hold similar operations in the area, in hope of curbing crime.
