A 29-year-old Delport informal settlement man was recently arrested by the Primrose police for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The arrest was made after the complainant opened a case against her boyfriend at the Primrose Police Station.
“When opening the case, she told the officers that they had an argument after which she decided to leave their home to stay with her sister,” explained communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

“Before she could leave the accused called her back into the shack and locked her in.”
It is alleged that he started assaulting her with a broomstick and a belt and only stopped when she said that she is pregnant.
“The complainant sustained injuries all over her body and needed medical assistance,” said Maome.
He further appealed to the community to seek help when they have problems with their relationships.
The man was arrested and held at the Primrose Police Station.
