The Katlehong police made 17 arrests on April 17, during a daily stop-and-search operation.
The operation was conducted by officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, with help from several detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

The accused were charged with various offences.
Charges included:
Warrant of arrest: 1
Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1
Shoplifting: 2
Possession of drugs: 13

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for different reasons.
Similar operations will be held in the area in an effort to curb crime.
