Twenty-two suspects nabbed in stop-and-search

Katlehong police arrest 22 suspects in daily stop-and-search operation.

Officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit recently arrested 22 suspects through a stop-and-search operation.

The accused were charged with several different offences.

Charges included:

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 3

Common assault: 2

Warrant of arrest: 2

Intimidation: 1

Possession of dagga: 14

The Katlehong SAPS’ acting station commander, Col Nomthandeki Mthembu, was impressed with the arrests made and encouraged the officers involved to keep up the hard work.

All of the suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
