Alberton drug dealer nabbed

A man found in possession of R800 worth of dagga and heroin was arrested at a house in Voortrekker Road in Alberton at 6am on June 20.

According to a media statement released by the EMPD head of communication, chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, their office received a tip-off from concerned members of the Alberton community. A drug raid to an identified house in Voortrekker Road was immediately conducted and headed by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit where a man was found in possession of heroin and dagga and arrested.

The 33-year-old arrested suspect was taken to the Alberton Police Station where he was detained and charged with the possession of drugs. The man is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit found the man in possession of 10 packets of heroin and seven bags of dagga.
