Eskom power lines damaged in Wadeville recycling company fire causes widespread power outage

Many Germiston suburbs were plunged into darkness after a fire broke out at a Wadeville recycling company last Tuesday night. The fire spread through dozens of cardboard bales stored on the Commercial Road company’s premises under the overhead Eskom power lines and burnt and damaged the lines.

Debris from a crash on N12 at Kraft Road leads to traffic delays in both directions

A crash, last Friday evening on the N12 highway at Kraft Road, caused major traffic delays in both directions. The traffic reports at about 8.20pm urged motorists to avoid the area as traffic was backed up at the Kraft on- and off-ramps. Three lanes eastbound and all westbound lanes were closed.

National News – Fake new Mandela notes already in circulation

Tercia Erasmus, a manager at the pub, said: “I never realised the notes were fake until I went to bank them after the weekend. At the bank I found out that fake notes had been given through over the weekend and this meant that I lost some money.”

Woman raped and stabbed in Primrose

While on a recent patrol, officers from the Primrose Police Station received a complaint about a fight in Zinnia Avenue, in Primrose. The officers proceeded to the address given where they met a woman who reported that a woman living in a small backroom had been raped and stabbed with a beer bottle in the upper body.
