Baby home ticks another item off its wish list
El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety ticked an on-site crèche off their wish list when Trouw Nutrition South Africa donated a container to the home.

Trouw Nutrition South Africa staff, part of Nutreco, a global company with Dutch origins, leading in premix and feed additives in the animal feed industry, made a trip to Primrose on Thursday.
El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety was the optimum destination.

Globally, the company usually picks a day in September where they celebrate Community Day, by gathering staff and selecting helpful ways in which to uplift the communities around them.
The home received a 6m by 3m container and a few classroom necessities such as tables, chairs and mats to help it realise its dream of having a crèche on the premises.

The Johannesburg-based company spent the day playing with the children, cleaning up the container and ensuring it was ready for use.

“Community Day was established to keep all staff aligned with the company principles.
“When our team chose El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety, they provided us with a wish list and having a crèche on their premises was on the list and we chipped in and bought the container,” said Tracy Meyer, area sales manager from Trouw Nutrition (Eastern Cape).
