Women care for the community
Pull Together Social and Health Club hosted a joyful birthday celebration bash in honour of several of their members.
As the month-long celebration of South African women officially ended at the end of August, a number of local women’s organisations were decided to extend their community service workload into the new month of September.
At the Spruitview Multi-Purpose Centre, a group of colourful elderly ladies, who call themselves Pull Together Social and Health Club, hosted a joyful birthday celebration bash in honour of several of their members.
The occasion was opened with prayers by the programme director Gogo Tholakele Jele and followed by the organisation’s mission statement and aspiration, which is to work for the common good of all its members.
After the formalities, good food, lots of laughter coupled with loads of jovial dancing and singing followed.
At the Tswelopele Clinic in Vosloorus, residents were treated to a sumptuous lunch in another community event that was held in honour of elderly women.
