Known for blending Afrosoul, Afro-house, three-step, house and African contemporary sounds, DJ Teddy has built a reputation for creating music that goes beyond entertainment, drawing inspiration from African culture, spirituality, love and everyday life.
The upcoming album follows his growing catalogue of music and collaborations with artists including MTK, Jolakazi, Chumile Mlaza, Soul Kulture, TeaMoswabi, Csana, Ghost Trap and Wadijaja.
He said the album also represents more than simply a collection of songs, serving as an opportunity to demonstrate his growth as a producer and to further establish his distinctive sound within South Africa’s evolving music landscape.
His previous work includes tracks and projects such as “Omusha,” “Imali Yami,” “Umoya” featuring MTK, as well as the Isibane Somoya (The Spiritual Guide) project.
These releases have showcased his ability to combine contemporary production with African-inspired musical elements.
As anticipation builds around his second album, DJ Teddy said he is also excited to showcase his growth.
“This project is another step in a career driven by creativity, culture and purpose rooted in African identity while embracing modern sounds,” said DJ Teddy.
He said in this album he wants listeners to appreciate the beauty of African culture.
“I want to give listeners a deeper understanding into my musical evolution and the experiences that continue to influence my work,” said DJ Teddy.

His work as a producer and recording engineer has allowed him to operate on different sides of the music industry, from creating sounds in the studio to helping other artists bring their ideas to life.
“Through Rootkey Entertainment, I hope to contribute to an industry where emerging musicians have greater opportunities to develop their craft and reach audiences.
The journey is ultimately about creating music with meaning while opening doors for others,” said DJ Teddy.
