A woman alleged she was sexually assaulted by a 21-year-old man while out with friends in Rietfontein Road, recently.
“The victim told police she was at a local bar with friends when she decided to go and get some food at a local restaurant,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“She asked her neighbour, who was also at the bar, to accompany her.”

Once they received their food, the accused reportedly asked the victim to come home with him, but she refused and said she was going back to her friends.
“The accused allegedly pulled the victim into Ash Road, where he forcefully pulled down her jeans, dropped his trousers and began fondling her and touching her private parts,” said Maome.
The man was reportedly frightened away when he heard people from the nearby bar approaching.

The victim reported the matter to police and the accused was soon arrested and charged with sexual assault.
He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
