A 24-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of statutory rape.
The incident was reported to the police by the parents of a 15-year-old girl.

“The mother told officers she dropped her daughter at her school in the morning as normal, but she never came home.
“Both parents tried to call her but could not get hold of her,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“A family member was later able to trace her phone.”

The family found her with the accused.
“She reportedly confessed that they had slept together,” said Maome.
The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for a bail application.
