Germiston residents advised to use water sparingly amid technical problems at Rand Water pump station

Restrictions on the water network have been applied.

Rand Water is experiencing electrical problems at the Palmiet Pumping Station, resulting in a critically low water supply level.

The Klipriviersberg Reservoir was below 20 per cent capacity on Sunday.

In this light, restrictions on the water network have been applied to alleviate pressure on the reduced capacity, and customers are urged to use water sparingly.

The areas that are most affected by low water pressure during peak hours include:

• Germiston

• Bedfordview

• Edenvale

• Tembisa

Customers who experience no water are urged to notify the metro through the call centre by calling 086 054 3000 or through social media platforms.
